It is therefore essential to test <strong data-start=\"245\" data-end=\"283\">everything from the input materials to the finished drinks<\/strong> during production to ensure that the resulting products are safe and tasty. One of the key factors affecting the final quality is <strong data-start=\"402\" data-end=\"436\">the purity of the carbon dioxide (CO\u2082)<\/strong> used to carbonate the drinks.  <\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"477\" data-end=\"516\"><strong data-start=\"481\" data-end=\"514\">Why is CO\u2082 purity important?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"517\" data-end=\"748\">Carbon dioxide used in beverages must meet strict standards: <strong data-start=\"581\" data-end=\"609\">at least 99.9% purity<\/strong>. Even trace amounts of impurities, such as aromatic hydrocarbons, can be noticed by consumers as an <strong data-start=\"709\" data-end=\"745\">undesirable odor or taste change<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"750\" data-end=\"981\">If impurities in CO\u2082 are not captured in time, they can only be seen in the finished beverage on the shelves. Customer complaints then reveal a problem that could have been prevented. That is why <strong data-start=\"939\" data-end=\"978\">accurate and timely CO\u2082 analysis is key<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"983\" data-end=\"1030\"><strong data-start=\"987\" data-end=\"1028\">How does Coca-Cola control the quality <\/strong><strong data-start=\"987\" data-end=\"1028\">of its CO\u2082<\/strong><strong data-start=\"987\" data-end=\"1028\">?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1031\" data-end=\"1299\">Previously, CO\u2082 samples were collected by hand, taken to a lab, and subjected to tests that could take <strong data-start=\"1131\" data-end=\"1144\">up to an hour<\/strong>. This process involved the use of <strong data-start=\"1177\" data-end=\"1225\">chemicals and labware<\/strong>, which not only slowed production but also increased the potential for human error. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1301\" data-end=\"1537\">Today, Coca-Cola Beverages Northeast uses the <strong data-start=\"1344\" data-end=\"1382\">Thermo Scientific <a href=\"https:\/\/nicoletcz.cz\/en\/product\/max-bev-co%e2%82%82-purity-monitoring-system\/\">MAX-Bev System<\/a><\/strong>, which uses <strong data-start=\"1398\" data-end=\"1420\">FT-IR spectroscopy<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"1478\" data-end=\"1534\">quickly and accurately analyze CO\u2082 directly upon delivery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1539\" data-end=\"1591\"><strong data-start=\"1543\" data-end=\"1589\">Advantages of FTIR spectroscopy in the MAX-Bev System<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1592\" data-end=\"2236\">\u2714 <strong data-start=\"1594\" data-end=\"1620\">Real-time measurement<\/strong>: Analysis takes <strong data-start=\"1643\" data-end=\"1669\">approximately nine minutes<\/strong>, allowing for immediate quality control.<br data-start=\"1711\" data-end=\"1714\">\u2714 <strong data-start=\"1716\" data-end=\"1747\">Trace impurity detection<\/strong>: FT-IR spectroscopy can <strong data-start=\"1774\" data-end=\"1821\">identify impurities at ppm and ppb<\/strong> (parts per million\/billion) levels, such as aromatic hydrocarbons at a concentration of <strong data-start=\"1897\" data-end=\"1909\">0.02 ppm<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1910\" data-end=\"1913\">\u2714 <strong data-start=\"1915\" data-end=\"1961\">Automation and minimization of human error<\/strong>: The system automatically evaluates CO\u2082 purity and provides a <strong data-start=\"2017\" data-end=\"2056\">simple \u201cpass\/fail\u201d output<\/strong>, reducing the risk of incorrect decisions.<br data-start=\"2097\" data-end=\"2100\">\u2714 <strong data-start=\"2102\" data-end=\"2124\">Process acceleration<\/strong>: Lab technicians do not have to handle samples, wait for results, or return to suppliers with complaints.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11403\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11403\" style=\"width: 562px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11403 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/nicoletcz.cz\/app\/uploads\/2023\/04\/20d76b81.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"562\" height=\"499\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nicoletcz.cz\/app\/uploads\/2023\/04\/20d76b81.png 562w, https:\/\/nicoletcz.cz\/app\/uploads\/2023\/04\/20d76b81-300x266.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 562px) 100vw, 562px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-11403\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nicoletcz.cz\/en\/product\/max-bev-co%e2%82%82-purity-monitoring-system\/\">MAX-Bev<\/a>: a reliable system providing fast and accurate results<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3 data-start=\"2238\" data-end=\"2293\"><strong data-start=\"2242\" data-end=\"2291\">How is CO\u2082 testing done upon receipt of a delivery?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol data-start=\"2294\" data-end=\"2724\">\n<li data-start=\"2294\" data-end=\"2372\">Upon arrival of the tanker, a <strong data-start=\"2318\" data-end=\"2369\">laboratory technician will verify the seals and documentation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2373\" data-end=\"2445\">The CO\u2082 sample is <strong data-start=\"2390\" data-end=\"2425\">automatically collected and analyzed<\/strong> using the MAX-Bev System spectrometer.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2446\" data-end=\"2610\"><strong data-start=\"2449\" data-end=\"2493\">Results are displayed within minutes<\/strong>.
