For example, in her master&#8217;s thesis at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Fernanda Rebellato Giordano Martim used the <a href=\"https:\/\/nicoletcz.cz\/en\/product\/picoraman-m3\/\"><strong>PicoRaman M3<\/strong><\/a> spectrometer with <strong>Timegated\u00ae Raman technology<\/strong> to study the potential of PAT (Process Analytical Technologies) tools in perfusion cultures. The goal was to see how PAT tools can help automatically control key process parameters (CPPs) and maintain production quality in real time, which is essential for modern biotechnology and pharmaceutical manufacturing.  <\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What the study found:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>On-the-fly quality control<\/strong>: Using Timegated Raman technology, the PicoRaman M3 can acquire data that can be used to predict key cultivation parameters in real time, ensuring consistent process quality and reducing the risk of manufacturing errors. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Applications in monoclonal antibody (mAb) production<\/strong>: Traditionally, mAbs are produced in batches, often resulting in losses due to limited quality control. Perfusion cultures allow for higher yields (up to 130 g\/L versus the typical 5-10 g\/L), as well as more flexible production conditions and the ability to test in real time. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Stronger predictive models<\/strong>: The study confirmed that more data means more robust prediction. Raman-based multivariate models can predict multiple key parameters simultaneously, increasing monitoring accuracy. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why is this important?<\/strong> With the growing demand for mAb drugs for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases, it is necessary to increase manufacturing efficiency.
